Less is more, always

The older I get, the clearer I become on the value of simplicity. I’d rather have one or two great fitting pairs of jeans than a closet full of trendy, ill-fitting, or someday-I’ll-loose-five-pounds and those will fit pairs of space hogs. When I focus on quality versus quantity of anything my overall experience of that item becomes expansive, deeply satisfying and rich. Same goes for food. Don’t  get me wrong. I love seeing the sheer abundance and variety at my farmer’s market, but I’m happier when I return home to review the considered items I Read More →

The great date round up

Looking back, it’s no surprise that the first time I tasted the sweet goodness of a medjool date was at Melissa’s house. First up, last weekend I was a guest on the America’s Angriest Trainer podcast with Vinnie Tortorich and Anna Vocino. It was so much fun. We had a great time talking about my own experiences in changing my diet and lifestyle and giving up most sugars and grains. We also touched on my other passion, cleaning out the toxic chemicals from our personal care products. Give it a listen, but Read More →

The coffee break reimagined

PMD coffee break final Collage

Since giving up most sugars and grains a few months ago my life has changed in ways I could never have predicted. I shared a bit about this journey here. I would not have believed that I could have ever experienced such sustained high energy, a migraine free and medication free lifestyle and an honest enthusiasm for this approach to food. I feel so good that I literally want to stop people on the street and spread the word, but I am not that lady. That isn’t to say I haven’t had a few tantrums Read More →
