one clean thing ~ homemade window cleaner

PMD one clean thing glass cleaner

By Estelle Hayes This week’s One Clean Thing was inspired by one big confession. I hate cleaning windows. It’s a chore I easily avoided (for years) until my daughter started teething and took to licking windows. It was a gross phase that lasted several months and I found myself frantically cleaning windows and French doors, nightly. That’s around the same time I started to get smart about label reading and questioning all the hidden toxins lurking in our every day household products. I didn’t want my wee one ingesting anything blue! Turns out, it’s super Read More →

cheers to your health ~ watermelon cooler

PMD watermelon cooler

By Estelle Hayes Being a vegetarian, it’s painful to admit when I don’t love a certain fruit or vegetable. sunday thoughts on happiness

PMD remember be happy small

A right mind set, according to Sylvia Boorstein, author of “It’s Easier Than You Think: The Buddhist Way to Happiness.” Try it this week. The Cleantini: vodka makes a great diamond cleaner

PMD one clean thing jewelry cleaner

By Estelle Hayes About once a quarter I crave an ice cold vodka martini, dirty with extra olives. But who knew my craving could do double duty? Turns out a little soaking and swishing in a bowl full of vodka will get your diamonds sparkling like they are brand new. After a little boozy soak take an extra soft baby toothbrush to your ring and gently brush the grime of daily life. Finish up with a clean rinse of water. Then mix yourself a jaunty cocktail and admire your handiwork. Do you have any homemade recipes Read More →
