The little things

If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year it’s that a good life is mostly made up of the little joys and celebrations sprinkled throughout every 24 hours. From a good night of sleep to a sunset over the ocean, small moments of little, lovely things truly do elevate the every day. I thought I’d start sharing a few of my favorites – as they seem to come in cycles based on the seasons, our home routines, adventures, travel and work opportunities. Here are a few things that really lighting me up these days. Sunshine Read More →

Meanwhile, back at the ranch

Malibu Ranch landscape

A few months back I had a special opportunity to attend a one-day introductory program at the Ranch at Live Oak Malibu. And at the risk of sounding trite, I’ll say it was a transformative experience. Since planting our own crop in my girlfriend’s front yard (those are her daughter’s sweet little hands holding our gems) a couple of months ago I’ve been hearing about how tender and delicious fava greens and flowers are when slightly wilted in a pan with Read More →

When Blogging Was Fun

Weekend in Yountville

Remember that? Those were the days when I didn’t think much posting an iPhone photo. Or, at least it wouldn’t stop me from actually posting. To be honest, I miss my old blog and I know a few of you do too. I miss sharing about my weekend and showing you the creative projects that keep me up at night. The soup fails and the cake wins. The good, the bad and the ugly. Don’t get me wrong. I love a pretty blog as much (maybe more) than the next gal. I’m a sucker for Read More →
