Cheers to Your Health ~ Almond Berry Smoothie

By Estelle Hayes

I’m helping to plan a bridal shower next month for a friend and I’ve been brainstorming ideas for a refreshing welcome drink for the guests. Since we’ll be serving plenty of champagne, I’m leaning toward a healthy shot glass of a fruit smoothie to kick off the party.

I’m officially hooked on Tina Jeffers’ homemade vanilla almond milk. It blends perfectly with a handful of organic blueberries that are all over the farmer’s market now. I added a bit of frozen banana to this mixture and it came out a bit thick for a quick shot. Next time I’ll stick to the berries and milk.

Very cute idea and you’ll get to giggle and watch all the panic of the people thinking “oh sh*t, is this a dry party?”. Sounds super yummy and healthy. How do I not know that you have a friend getting married? Are you breaking contract and making new friends again?

Looks like we will have to take this conversaiton off line! :) Nothing to worry about and I think you know I wouldn’t think of hosting a dry party of any sorts! Rest assured, I’ve got my priorities in order.

Just what I was thinking Mel. Looks delish even if it doesn’t have any of the good stuff in it (alcohol).  Best to pace yourselves.

Erin, it was super easy and delicious! Although, Emerson insisted the milk tasted like water. I thought it was pretty good.
